"I recently organized a five-day meeting/retreat at the Boar's Head Inn in Charlottesville. The group really enjoyed their time there and found it the perfect environment for both productivity and relaxation. They started each morning at the fitness center, then on to our meetings, a quick lunch time swim break and we ended each day with a lovely walk around the pond together. The suites were spacious and comfortable. Two women had massages at the spa which they loved. By the end of the week we were all addicted to the mango smoothies at the Sports Club Café. I think the atmosphere works really well for this kind of thing. I would highly recommend it.

... Now I can add Charlottesville to my list of global spa venues. To be quite honest, my visit at Boar's Head trumps all my other experiences... I thought I would do a man's review of a spa in Cville and be very macho about it...Having read the Dream Massage description in the quite room, I expected an oil-based massage...Instead, [he] gave me what I preferred. To my surprise and good fortune, [he] turned out to be very knowledgeable with sports and rehabilitative massage. What happened for the next 60 minutes was deep tissue bliss accented by undertones of pain (the good kind). [He] managed to find tiny muscles in my upper back that I had never heard of (he explained every one of them, their purpose, and which ones are used in my martial arts training). I think every man should plan at least one of these types of treatments a month... And ladies, if your boyfriend's, fiance's or husband's birthday is coming up, consider this experience to be just as good, if not better, than any other present. We might go in kicking and screaming, but I guarantee we will brag about our experience for months after being pampered like this.
