Cooking Classes as Team Building
The kitchen
represents a microcosm of the working world with deadlines, decision-making and
cooperation necessary to succeed.
Cooking is based on a system of organization and it is all about team
building!
After a short
introduction, including safety lessons and basic knife skills, the group is
formed into teams. Each team chooses a team leader and is presented with a
"Culinary Challenge." For the next 1.5
to 2 hours the teams have to prepare the food, following the given guidelines,
which are far away from being complete recipes. The main goal is to work
together, using inspiration, creativity and trust in each other. The final
dinner is when the ice is broken and everyone gets a new taste about who they
really are besides a corporate staff member as they reflection on the collaborative
cooking experience.
