It's been a whirlwind few weeks in the beautiful new McArthur Squash Center and there is still plenty to be done - but we are on the right track! Our introductory period of free classes and clinics is now over, and Mark Allen is busy working on a program schedule to take us through the next few weeks and onward into the school holiday period.

Junior Clinics

Starts week of Monday May 13

We will hold one round of 3 week junior squash clinics before our Summer Camp program kicks in. Classes for the younger children are schedule for Wednesday's, and classes for the older kids will be on a Thursday.

Dawn Patrol Class

Starts Wednesday May 15, 7.00am to 8.00am

Come in early and get your day off to a great start. The first 30 minutes of the class are coaching instruction, where we pick a theme to focus on and work on improvement in that one specific aspect of the game. The second half of the session is about getting a good workout through rotating match play.

Tactics & Rules Clinic

On Wednesday May 15, 5.30pm to 7.00pm.

This is a single class/lecture that I have presented many times before and it's aimed at helping you and your playing partner have a cleaner, more interference free game of squash. I recommend it to everyone. The fee is $20 per person.

Thursday Night Club Night

Every Thursday from May 16, 5.45pm to 7.15pm

All 11 squash courts will be reserved for Club Night. This weekly event is sure to become a popular mainstay in our squash programming calendar. There is no need to sign up in advance, just turn up on the night, and have fun mixing in with some singles and doubles with as many players as possible. You can attend for the whole 90 minutes, or any part thereof. All levels are welcome. And every other week you can invite one guest along for free – the first free guest night being May 16.

Private Squash Lessons w/ Assistant Pro(s)

From Monday May 20

We hope to have our first assistant pro hired and conducting lessons by Monday May 20. Lessons with assistants will be 45 minutes long and priced at $65. If you are interested in lessons with an assistant coach when they come on board please contact Director of Squash, Mark Allen.

Ladies Morning

Every Tuesday from May 21, 9.15am to 10.15am

The ladies morning class has been the most popular on our opening schedule, so it will continue, every Tuesday, starting May 14th. Sign up for the first 3 week period for $45 total. There is space for 15 women total, and all levels are welcome.

Kids Summer Squash Camps

From Monday June 11

Our summer squash camp program for kids is now posted. There will be 3 weeks of camp in June and another 3 weeks in July. Camps are Monday through Thursday and begin with children as young as 5 years old. You may download more information on the camps at the bottom of this page.

Bronze Junior Tournament

July 27-28

This will be our first US squash sanctioned junior tournament at MSC. When starting to play junior tournaments, kids should look to enter Bronze tournaments, which have the fewest ranking points and therefore will attract players with less experience. We plan on having a silver event in September. Contact Mark for more information.

Grand Opening Squash Festival

September 20-22

More news to follow on this, but for now please diarize September 19-22 as we will be hosting a squash festival at MSC that will include pro events in both singles and doubles versions of the game, a doubles Pro-Am, an adult skill level tournament, and a junior age group event.
